1st Annual LA Artcore National Arts Exhibition and Awards 2015 at LA Artcore Brewery Annex: JULY 2-26TH, 2015

IMPORTANT DATES

  • May 9th - Entry Deadline
  • June 6th - Judging Ends
  • June 10th - Notify all entrants
  • June 24th-28th - Winners hand carry their art to the gallery located at: 650 South Avenue 21, Los Angeles, CA 90031
  • July 2nd - Exhibition Starts
  • July 12th - Exhibition Opening Reception and Awards presented 1-3 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 26th - Show Closes; Participants must pick up their works by 7 p.m. Sunday July 26, or between 9-3 p.m. on Monday July 27th

REQUIREMENTS

  • Images - Minimum: 1, Maximum: 2
  • Entry Fee (LA Artcore) $35.00
  • Two-dimensional works, when displayed, cannot exceed 60 inches in height and 48 inches in width, including frame. Three-dimensional works cannot exceed 60 inches in height, 24 inches in width and 24 inches in depth. The weight limitation of each work must not exceed 30 lbs and must be wall-mountable.

ELIGIBILITY

1st Annual LA Artcore Online Competition and exhibition 2015 is open to all artists working in the United States. All wall-hanging works may be in any medium. All art must be original, completed within the last two years, and available through the entire run of the show.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES

  • Saturday, May 9th , 2015. You can apply online at https://www.callforentry.org/ and search for 1st Annual LA Artcore Online Competition and Exhibition 2015. 

ENTRY FEE AND PROCEDURES:

  • One or two digital images may be submitted via CaFÈ for a $35 entry fee at: https://www.callforentry.org.
  • Secure credit card payments can be made through CaFÈ.
  • Personal checks or money orders will be accepted via mail payable to: LA Artcore
  • To guarantee that your images are sent to the juror, all entry fees sent by mail must be received by May 9th, 2015 and mailed to LA Artcore - 120 Judge John Aiso St., Lobby Gallery / Los Angeles, CA 90012
  • All works of art will be for sale unless otherwise labeled "Not for Sale" or "NFS". For all other works, a thirty-five percent commission fee to LA Artcore will be assessed at time of sale. Sixty-five percent will go to the artist.

SUBMITTING IMAGES FOR JURYING

All entries (information and images) will be accepted through the CaFÈ website. Instructions on how to format images to CaFÈ specifications can be found at Media Prep

  • Each entrant may submit up to one digital image of two different artworks.
  • Each work must be represented by only one image (no detail views or duplicates).

Juror's selection for the 1st Annual LA Artcore Competition and Exhibition 2015 will be announced via email and the CaFÈ website during the week of June 7th, 2015

SHIPPING

  • Artists must hand deliver all artwork to: Artcore Brewery Annex; 650A South Avenue 21, Los Angeles, CA 90031.
  • Detailed instructions will be sent to those artists whose works are accepted by the juror.

JURORS:

LADDIE JOHN DILL, ANDY MOSES, AVE PILDAS

Laddie John Dill, internationally known as a member of the Light and Space Movement is a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and to National Endowment for the Arts Grant. The artist continues to experiment with applying a scientific approach to producing art from his studio in Venice, California.

Andy Moses, a Cal Arts graduate, has developed a type of process painting that is simultaneously abstract and representational. He has exhbited in New York and Los Angeles and abroad for the past 25 years, and is in the collection of the Laguna Art Museum and the Frederick R. Weisman Collection.

Ave Pildas, photographer, graduate degree in design from the world-renowned Kunstgewerbeschule in Basel, Switzerland. His photographs are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (New York) and Bibliotheca National (Paris). He is Professor Emeritus at Otis College of Art and Design.
