Artistic/Management Assistant – Short Description

Laguna Playhouse seeks an Artistic/Management Assistant to work directly with the Artistic and Management team to support the diverse and robust programming at the Playhouse. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with exceptional administrative skills, and a passion for live performance, looking to gain an understanding of the full scope of producing at a LORT C non-profit theater. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are required. Reporting to the Artistic Director, the Artistic/Management Assistant is the nerve center of the artistic department and will ensure fluid communication between production and administrative staff, be responsible for company logistics, contribute to the efficient day-to-day operations of the company, and support the work of the Laguna Playhouse staff and the company as a whole. Responsibilities include drafting and tracking contracts for guest artists, collecting data and preparing paperwork, arranging for guest artist travel and accommodations, overseeing maintenance of Laguna Playhouse apartments, and other tasks as assigned by the Artistic Director and General Manager. Qualified candidate will possess excellent follow-through and time management, computer proficiency, as well as a positive attitude while interacting with administrative staff and visiting artists.
