Counter to what some will have you believe, arts education is happening in LA County, and here is the proof.We are thrilled to announce that Antelope Valley Union High School District, 
El Monte City School District, Los Angeles Unified School District, and Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools Charter Network are our newest partners in bringing high quality arts education to LA County students!In 2015-16, three school districts will be creating multi-year plans to advance arts education, and six districts will be revising existing plans. Four additional districts will work with Arts for All coaches to implement new plans.We are so proud to be a part of this important work. A huge congratulations to all of our partners, new and old, for their commitment to arts education! We look forward to reporting on their progress in the coming months.

El Rancho Unified School District Featured in the Los Angeles County Arts Commission's 2014-15 Community Report 

The report provides an overview of the work taking place in support of arts and culture throughout the region. In addition to milestones, there are personal perspectives from those doing great work in collaboration with the Arts Commission, including Dr. Roxane Fuentes, Assistant Superintendent for El Rancho Unified School District. Arts for All offers professional development and networking opportunities tailored to address the needs of school district leaders and community arts partners. We also team up with other organizations to bring together arts and education experts from the field to engage in learning and sharing. 
Here are some highlights from next month's line-up:

Supporting Arts Pathways for 
High School Counselors

November 3, 2015
9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Los Angeles, CA

High school guidance counselors, career tech counselors and district arts coordinators who support high school students are invited to this workshop. Participants will gain tools and resources for guiding students who wish to study the visual, media or performing arts in college. 

Arts Education Provider Network
November 13, 2015
1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Los Angeles, CA

Arts organizations, teaching artists and other community arts partners are invited to come together to share best practices and network with peers from across the County. Upon registration, participants will be asked to contribute ideas for topics to discuss during break-out sessions. Possible topics include the National Core Arts Standards or training opportunities for teaching artists. We look forward to harnessing the experience you bring from the field to foster deep conversations about arts education.
