youTHink is an innovative education program of the Zimmer Children’s Museum. youTHink uses the power of art to foster critical thinking, engage diverse learners, promote literacy and serve as a tool for social change. youTHink’s School Services provide art/education lessons in California’s public schools along with professional development opportunities for teachers. Youth Services provide meaningful art, leadership and community involvement opportunities for middle and high school youth beyond the classroom.

 

The Club youTHink Arts Education Intern will work 6-8 hours/ week, supporting the Club youTHink program, an afterschool art and community building experience at select middle schools. Club youTHink offers 5-session modules after school at several middle schools each semester. The intern will provide logistical and programmatic support to the youTHink facilitator, both in the classroom and administratively in the youTHink office during business hours.

 

We seek an intern who:

• Is detail oriented

• Wants to gain experience and assist with youth arts programming

• Is interested in serving/ connecting with youth from diverse backgrounds

• Speaks Spanish (preferred)

• Is willing to learn

 

Responsibilities:

• Tracking student attendance and contact information

• Assisting will student calls and recruitment

• Organizing art and program supplies

• Providing program support at Club youTHink sessions

• Supporting Club youTHink facilitator

• Promoting youTHink Youth Services events to Club youTHink students

 

College credit may be available, depending on your college or university.
