Now Hiring - Audience Services Representative for Caltech Public Events
Job Description: Under direct supervision of the Ticket Office Customer Service Coordinator and at times under the auditorium House Manager, this position provides customer service to event patrons/attendees and the Caltech community through telephone, mail order, and counter sales in the Caltech Ticket Office and event box office and at times assists with audience services and front-of-house operations during Caltech public events.This is an occasional position, work hours and days may vary. 


• Responsible for selling tickets to Caltech events in person, over the phone, and through the mail using a computerized ticket system.
• Process and distribute ticket orders via mail, telephone, Internet and over-the-counter.
• Operate a cash register and/or credit card equipment.
• Assist with closing of the ticket office/box office including reconciliation of register and ticket software and preparation of bank deposits.
• Provide accurate and specific information and/or distribute literature to the general public and Caltech community about scheduled events.
• Assist in creating and maintaining customer accounts and entering data into computerized ticket system.
• Support marketing and promotional projects for ticketed events (social media, etc.).
• Perform work in accordance with Institute and regulatory agencies (e.g. OSHA) safety standards and practices. 
• Greet patrons and assist them to their seats. 
• Distribute programs to patrons, including preparation of insert materials, if any, and sorting unused programs.
• Sort ticket stubs by price and/or patron category; count sorted ticket stubs. 
• Set up and remove auditorium ropes, equipment, and displays. 
• Assist with sales of refreshments and/or souvenir items outside the auditorium. May include pushing and/or pulling rolling carts. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail sales, customer service, and ticketing.
• Knowledge of accounting, cash management principles and/or procedures.
• Working knowledge of various computer software systems and social media networking sites (box office ticketing software, social media networking sites-Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
