TITLE: Communications and Social Media Intern

TIME COMMITMENT: Part-Time (20-25 hours/week for 8-10 weeks)

Organization Overview:
Levitt Pavilions is the national nonprofit behind the largest free concert series in America. At heart, we are an arts for social impact organization, using free, live music as the vehicle to revitalize public spaces and add vitality to neighborhoods, creating citywide destinations. There are currently six Levitt venues across the country (including two in the Los Angeles area), forming the only national network offering free concert series. Each Levitt venue offers 50+ free concerts between May and October every year.
This spring marks the beginning of a new era with the introduction of the Levitt AMP Music Series, which will bring the Levitt program to 10 additional small to mid-sized cities across America (for a list of Levitt AMP winners visit www.amp.levittpavilions.org)—which means that free Levitt concerts will be happening in 16 cities this year!
Position Overview:
Do you love music? Do you love curating and creating original content? Do you want to gain hands-on experience communicating messages to the public on behalf of a national nonprofit arts organization? If so, join the communications team of our growing national arts organization this spring!
The Communications Department shapes the branding, marketing and communications strategy for Levitt Pavilions, and provides communications support for the local and Levitt AMP venues across the country, as needed.
As we kickoff the first-ever Levitt AMP Music Series, we are looking for a motivated, creative and enthusiastic intern with strong writing and organizational abilities to help us spread the word! The Communications and Social Media Intern will help promote the inaugural season of 100 free Levitt AMP concerts across the country, primarily by curating and creating original content for the newly-developed Levitt AMP microsite, and engaging Levitt AMP audiences on social media.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform artist research
- Gather information for upcoming concerts at Levitt AMP locations across the country: artist media, dates and times
- Craft concert series posts for each Levitt AMP venue
- Promote upcoming Levitt AMP concerts on social media
- Help track media and social media coverage of Levitt AMP concert venues
- If interested, author up to three blog posts about the Levitt AMP concert series, arts access, exciting art projects in public spaces, social impact through the arts or placemaking in the Levitt blog, reVerb
- Perform other related duties, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must currently be enrolled in college/university as a junior or senior
- Preferably pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing or Nonprofit/Arts Administration
- Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
- Well versed and current in social media platforms, tools and trends
- Excellent writing and communications skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Passion for Levitt Pavilions mission
