Venice Arts mission is to ignite youths’ imagination, mentor their creativity, and expand their sense of possibility through high quality, accessible media–based arts education programs. Venice Arts also serves as a catalyst for people of all ages, living in low–income or underrepresented communities, to create and share personal and community stories through photography, film, and multi–media.
Venice Arts is currently seeking qualified teaching artists to lead photography classes in our Fall program. Must be a photographer with experience teaching youth; a strong commitment to and experience in documentary photography, photojournalism, or street photography is preferred. Familiarity with participant photography and visual storytelling is a plus. Must be expert in digital media, including image management. Must have an interest in on-going contract positions including Summer Camp at Venice Arts. Those without prior teaching experience will not be considered.
If you are interested in either of the positions, please send your resume with a cover letter highlighting relevant experience to Issa Sharp at [email protected]. Please, no phone enquiries or walk–ins. Due to the fact that we receive significant interest in open positions, we apologize if we are unable to respond to every applicant's submission.
