*Position Overview:*

Levitt Pavilion - Greater Los Angeles & Pasadena is seeking an experience

development professional on a full-time basis. This position reports to and

works closely with the Executive Director in developing and implementing

fundraising strategies. The Director of Development will be responsible for

setting projections and meeting the organization's annual fundraising goals

through corporate sponsorships, individuals donor cultivation, foundation

and government grants, and special events, and will be responsible for

managing supporting staff as our team grows.

 

*Organization Overview: *

Levitt Pavilion - Greater Los Angeles & Pasadena's mission is to make live

music accessible to all, creating stronger and more connected communities,

while celebrating the diversity of cultures, promoting appreciation of the

arts, and enriching family values. We accomplish this through producing 50

high quality concerts each summer in two venues - Levitt Pavilion Los

Angeles in MacArthur Park, and Levitt Pavilion Pasadena in Memorial Park.

We have an active Intern and Volunteer program that provides the youth of

the community the opportunity to learn music production and be a part of

our team.

 

*Responsibilities: *

- Implement fundraising strategies targeting private foundations,

corporations and individual donors

- Spearhead aggressive corporate funding campaign through concert

sponsorships, prepare corporate solicitation packets and make presentations

 

to potential corporate funders

- Ensure recognition and benefits for sponsors and donors are delivered as

agreed upon at concerts and in marketing materials

- Coordinate individual giving campaigns and produce annual mail appeals

- Identify, research and cultivate prospective major gifts

- Serve as principal contact and manage relationships with donors

- Ensure timely acknowledgement of all gifts according to IRS guidelines

- Work with the Board of Directors in cultivating donor prospects

- Manage all aspects of the annual gala and additional donor cultivation

events, including coordinating even logistics, developing event budgets,

and securing event sponsors

- Work with grants consultant in developing and maintaining relationships

with foundations and government funders

- Monitor and ensure compliance with grant agreements and track outcome for

reporting purposes

- Maintain and expand database of funders, donors, prospects and contacts

ensuring accurate records of development activities are kept

- Oversee online and social media appeals

- Generate internal fundraising reports for the Executive Director and

 

Board of Directors

 

*Qualifications:*

- At least 3 years as a Director of Development, or the equivalent, with a

successful track records of meeting funding goals and at least 7 years

experience in progressively responsible fundraising for a non-profit

- Ability to creatively generate new funding opportunities and approaches

while simultaneously stewarding and growing established relationships

- Energetic and willing to work hands-on in developing and executing a

variety of fundraising activities

- Demonstrated success in developing corporate sponsor relationships

- Successful track record in identifying, cultivating and soliciting

individual donors for gifts at all levels

- A professional and resourceful style with the ability to work

independently and as a team player, to take initiative and simultaneously

manage multiple tasks and projects

- Strong network and familiarity with the Greater Los Angeles and Pasadena

area granting agencies and philanthropic community a plus

- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced

environment

- Strong presentation, strategic thinking and management skills with

exceptional attention to detail

- Effective communicator, excellent oral and written skills with the

ability to articulate the mission of the organization to varied audiences

- Ability to work effectively and collegially as part of a team under the

Executive Director

- Experience with e-tapestry a plus

- A passion for the performing arts preferred
