Director of Development: Position Overview

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (“The Wallis”) seeks a senior development professional for the position of Director of Development (“DOD”). The DOD is a self-directed, results-oriented front line fundraiser responsible for creating, overseeing and executing a comprehensive development plan for The Wallis. Working closely with the Artistic Director, Managing Director and Board of Directors, the DOD will lead the planning, development and implementation of development strategies to raise $6+ million in contributed revenue annually in addition to raising funds for the capital campaign and other fundraising efforts. The position reports to the Managing Director, forms a vital part of the executive management team and manages the development department staff. Candidates should have: a bachelor’s degree; 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in generating successful fundraising campaigns, preferably in arts and culture; extensive experience in partnering with an executive team and Board of Directors; and outstanding communication skills. A passion for fundraising and the performing arts is a requirement. Salary is competitive with benefits including health, dental and 401(k). Start date is immediate.
