Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art (LAAFA) is looking to hire a Director of Recruitment. Under the direction of the President, Director of Recruitment is responsible for coordinating the marketing strategy in support of LAAFA’s overall institutional goals. 

Specific areas of focus include: advertising, social media, grassroots marketing & events, market research and analytics, promotions, database management, media relations, web communications and e-marketing as well as overall brand development and interactive marketing. 




· Participate in the development and detailed implementation of marketing, advertising, enrollment goals, objectives, plans and strategies; 

· Establish and manage annual advertising, marketing and promotions budgets in a manner that efficiently deploys institution’s resources; 

· Provide strategic direction and leadership including extensive market research, reporting and analysis to guide future planning and for the purpose of developing and executing the branding and marketing strategy for LAAFA; 

· Assist with LAAFA’s public relations including press release writing and distribution; 

· Responsible for managing advertising placement, and working on creative conception and media planning; 

· Responsible for overseeing fan development efforts, including database development and monetization, community events, and social media initiatives that result in positive ROI and reduce direct selling costs; 

· Extensive involvement in e-marketing initiatives, website data collection and online promotions, analyzes media ratings and trends, and prepares regular reports for management; 

· Develop qualitative and quantitative reports in support of marketing and sales efforts; 

· Interface with the Admissions department in leading the development, implementation and analysis of sales and marketing campaigns as well as to facilitate information regarding student files and admission decisions; 

· Night and weekend work is required; 

· Other duties, as assigned. 



This role would best suit a driven, resourceful, forward-thinking individual with an entrepreneurial spirit—someone who utilizes the standard compliment of marketing channels, while also thinking “outside of the box” to provide creative solutions to maximize our marketing efforts within budgetary, time and resource frameworks. 




· Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Marketing from an accredited institution; 

· Minimum of 5 years of experience with a proven track record working at a managerial level and control over marketing and advertising campaigns, promotions as well as community relations (including campaign design, budgeting, media buys, digital and conventional strategies and spaces, campaign tracking, etc.) Experience working in an accredited higher education institution is highly desirable; 

· Talented self-starter with an extremely creative mind and a passion for achieving excellence; 

· Ability to think strategically and innovatively in formulating and executing ongoing marketing and advertising plans in a highly competitive environment; 

· Knowledge of marketing principles, strategies, processes, techniques and channels—with a very strong focus on digital; 

· Knowledge of brand management theory and techniques; 

· Thorough knowledge of social media and its applications; 

· Highly developed organizational and planning as well as time management skills to manage multiple tasks with multiple priorities and deliver quality work to deadline. Attention to detail is imperative; 

· Strong communication skills including professional writing, copy writing and public speaking; 

· Strong knowledge of online marketing initiatives and data collection; 

· Knowledge of budgeting and tracking; 

· Robust technical skills including word processing knowledge, spreadsheet presentations, advanced internet research, and customer relationship management; graphic design program skills and website management experience is a plus; 

· Ability to adapt to a changing set of responsibilities, directives, schedules and assignments; 

· Motivated and able to work collaboratively or independently as the project requires; 

· Exhibits tact, good judgment and common sense in the execution of the duties of the role;
