The Downtown Art Center (DAC) Gallery is seeking submissions for a group exhibition taking place in July of 2015. All works submitted must be part of a series (such as a limited edition, or collection of works tied together by a theme). In addition to the exhibition, the collection of works selected by the curators will be represented by DAC Gallery on Amazon Fine Art for a period of up to a year.

DAC Gallery will host an opening reception on Thursday, July 9th, 2015, coinciding with the Downtown Art Walk. The exhibition will run from Thursday, July 9th through Friday, August 28th, 2015.

ARTWORK AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Creation Timeline: Original works created in the past two years only.

Location: Open to all artists within the continental United States.

Theme: Open theme. Submit pieces that best represent your current direction as an artist. 

Jury: Works will be selected by in-house curators at DAC Gallery

Fee: Free to enter

Opening Reception: Thursday, July 9th, 2015, 7-10PM (coinciding with the Downtown Art Walk). Exhibition runs through August 28, 2015.

Mediums: Drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, and collage.

Sizes: Not to exceed 36" on the longest side (if framed, this measurement includes the frame)

Framing and presentation: We will consider both framed and unframed works. If framed, use simple black or white frames with a 2" profile (depth). If submittingunframed works on stretched canvas, the gallery requires a 2" profile (depth) and clean edges (edges must either be painted/finished as part of the piece, OR must have been taped in the art making process and remain free of paint marks)

Deadline: Submissions must be received by e-mail on or before June 5th, 2015 at [email protected]

Images: Up to 20 images may be submitted in .jpg format (approx. resolution, 1600 pixels at the longest side, 72 dpi). Please include a list in the body of your e-mail with the title, dimensions, medium, and year created. 

Artist Resume: Please include contact information, website, and prior exhibition experience.

Artwork Drop-Off / Shipping: Selected artists will receive drop-off or delivery instructions. Artists residing outside of the greater Los Angeles area must ship the work at their own cost, and provide return shipping labels. Gallery staff will unpack and repackage artwork for delivery. 

Consignment: Selected artworks will be held for consignment at the DAC Gallery for up to 1 (one) year and will be offered for sale on Amazon Fine Art. No guarantees are made that the artwork will be sold. 

Commissions: DAC Gallery will take a 50% commission of any artwork sales. 

Insurance: The DAC Gallery takes every precaution to handle and store artwork with the utmost care and professionalism. However, we do not provide insurance and will not be responsible for damages to the artwork, whether in transit, while exhibited, or while under consignment and stored. Artists are encouraged to purchase their own insurance.
