The Development Associate is responsible for the design, logistics, and execution of development department cultivation events and receptions. This position is also responsible for the solicitation of items and organization of items for the annual live and silent auction component of our gala. Duties include coordinating with other departments as needed in scheduling and managing events, assisting with donor stewardship, and supporting major gift activities as a part of a campaign.

Essential Functions

- Manage logistics for all development cultivation events and receptions

- Liaison with curatorial and communications departments to calendar dates, prepare event and reception materials and agenda

- Liaison with membership and venue rental departments for site preparations

- Liaison with education department for special prospect tours

- Manage event and reception registration process including RSVPs and name badges

- Solicit and coordinate acquisition of items for annual silent and live auction items

- Prepare briefings, proposals, and packets as directed

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of school and work experience

- Minimum two (2) years related work experience

- Requires excellent organizational, verbal, and written skills as well as the ability to multitask

- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office software required; database, PowerPoint, and Raiser’s Edge experience preferred

Working Conditions

Normal office environment (frequent use of computer, typing, copying, and filing).  Involves physical mobility and strength for lifting, carrying, and setting up for events.
