The position requires strong attention to detail and deadlines, and initiative to tackle action items in an efficient manner.The job includes a wide range of responsibilities, including the following:

  • Provide support to Founder and Director. This includes drafting and sending correspondence on behalf of Founder and working closely with both on key strategic press and sales related projects.
  • Read, organize and prioritize email correspondence for Founder. Report important correspondence directly to Founder via text or phone call. Thorough communication with Founder to manage correspondence is important. Follow up with Founder on status of important items, making sure things are followed through to completion.
  • Manage Founder’s schedule and ICal calendar on a daily basis
  • Provide support to Founder and Director during travel times and fairs by closely monitoring correspondence, sales and outstanding items.
  • Assist with press duties including supervising the creation of press kits and creating press outreach letters (pitch letters). The pitch letters will be sent throughout the year targeting key publications, critics and writers/bloggers focused on the current exhibition and any relevant Shulamit Gallery artist or company news.
  • Develop and maintain mailing list in address book and Constant Contact with detailed information on contacts including their role, purchase history for collectors, where they were met and by whom, their significant others and any other information we can use to categorize and successfully use contacts.
  • Maintain clear communication with Gallery Team. Update relevant staff on any action items on projects that need additional support.
  • Position requires staffing at all major events such as Gallery openings. Working during smaller programs and Gallery tours will be determined as needed. These efforts will be scheduled in advance with the Director. 

Qualifications: Applicant must have prior experience in a gallery or comparable setting, a Bachelors degree or higher, be very organized, detail-oriented, punctual and professional in demeanor. Applicant must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure, exciting, international environment, and be articulate, confident, and a team player. Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.
