Ace Gallery, an internationally recognized art gallery specializing in art from the 1960's to the present, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of Gallery Manager & Assistant to the Director for Ace Gallery, Beverly Hills.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
o Assisting the director in overseeing and managing all gallery operations and gallery staff
o Managing incoming calls to the gallery director
o Drafting and sending correspondence on behalf of the gallery director
o Managing all appointments for and the schedule of the gallery director
o Working with the registrar to manage all fine art services (includes crating, installation/de-installation requests, and artwork shipping)
o Overseeing all incoming and outgoing gallery artwork consignments
o Coordinating exhibition preparations, preparing purchase orders, and coordinating upcoming exhibitions and events, etc.
o Invoicing for fine art sales and fine art services
o Strategizing and managing all gallery openings and events
o Correspond to facilitate gallery event rentals
o Act as the direct liaison with the public regarding current and upcoming exhibitions
o Research projects
o Providing general administrative support
Requirements:
o Bachelor’s in Art History (or equivalent experience) required; MFA preferred
o Minimum of 5 years of work experience in managing a high level contemporary art gallery or working at a cultural institution as an assistant to an A-level director required
o Strong familiarity with the local, national, and international contemporary art communities
o Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication
o Proficiency with Mac computers
o Punctuality
o Must work well and thrive in high-pressure situations
o Must live within 10 miles of Beverly Hills
