Grants for LGBT-Related Programs (Ongoing Deadline)
Arcus Foundation
The Arcus Foundation is a private grant making foundation that supports organizations around the world working to advance social justice inclusive of sexual orientation, gender identity and race. The Arcus LGBT Program supports efforts with a national scope and/or impact and that will change hearts and minds on issues relating to the LGBT community.
Strategic Funding Areas:
Culture : Arcus supports relevant and culturally competent message frames, national and grassroots messengers, and high-profile influencers targeted at youth, people of color and faith communities. Contexts may include religion, sports, entertainment, film, and arts; messages include positive sexuality, inclusion, faith, family, diversity, and human dignity.
Leadership : Arcus strengthens and supports leadership of young people and people of color to build a diverse network committed to sexual/gender justice. Arcus increases capacity of LGBT and allied organizations working on intersecting issues to build a movement with a strong organizing base, infrastructure, and sophisticated national advocacy strategy.
Protections : Arcus supports advocacy efforts to increase social and economic protections affecting LGBT youth of color. Arcus seeks to identify, enact and replicate tested programs; build a network of local and national organizations advancing such protections; and lessen marginalization and rejection of LGBT youth of color.
Inquires are welcomed from arts and culture projects that have national scope/impact and that focus on LGBT issues and faith or racial justice. Arcus, however, does not fund film production. Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis. Applicants should allow at least 6 months from the time of submission to the project start date.
