presentations and innovative educational opportunities based on Jewish folklore, rituals and


Founded in 2011, theatre dybbuk is excited to be entering this next phase of growth. We are


increasing the scope of our theatrical offerings, educational programs and synagogue

Our part-time Managing Director will help to influence and shape our business practices and


organizational structure for years to come. 


Job Summary: The Managing Director is responsible for overseeing the growth of the company's


infrastructure, inclusive of duties related to budgets, contracts and development. This individual works


closely with the Artistic Director and the Marketing and Communications Director.


Duties and responsibilities:


Productions, Educational Workshops and Partner Programs


• Work with the Artistic Director on coordinating all performances, trainings, educational programs and


synagogue collaborations, including: collaborating with partners to plan events; negotiating contracts


and paying artists, independent contractors and vendors; creating and maintaining schedules;


managing production and program revenues.


• Work with Marketing and Communications Director to facilitate and coordinate marketing strategies.


Financial Management & Board Engagement


• Keep track of revenue and expenses, communicating these figures on a regular basis through written


reports. Work with Artistic Director, Fiscal Sponsor and Board on all financial matters.


• Participate in long-term strategic planning, as theatre dybbuk looks at its next five years of growth.


• Provide support towards fund-raising activities, inclusive of grant writing efforts, annual campaigns


and engagement with potential sponsors.


• Attend meetings with a variety of organizational partners and interested parties to maintain and


develop relationships and to participate in professional development opportunities.


Experience in not-for-profit organizations and in working with institutional partners is recommended.


Experience with theatrical production and live events is a plus.


This is a part-time, independent contractor position. 


Salary is commensurate with experience.
