Apply now for the National Association of Business Economics/Americans
for the Arts Scholarship awarded to a college or graduate student
studying economics and the arts. The scholarship encourages the
integration of the arts into the economic education process and is
presented to recent high school graduates and college undergraduates who
are majoring in economics and/or the arts. The award recipient must come
from an economically disadvantaged household, have attended a public
school, have participated in arts, have excelled academically, and have
formally declared the intent to study economics. This $5,000 scholarship
will be presented in March 2015 at the NABE conference in Washington DC.

Join Americans for the Arts on December 3 at 3pm for a webinar with
three of this year's BCA 10 honorees. Each year the BCA 10 honors ten
businesses that have been exceptional partners with the arts. These
companies set the standard of excellence and serve as role models for
other businesses to follow. Join us and hear directly from three 2014
honorees about why they partner with the arts and learn how to create
successful partnerships with the businesses in your community. The first
guest will be Hallmark Cards, Inc. <> , based in
Kansas City, MO. From its founding in the early 20th century, Hallmark
has fostered creative environments both inside and outside the
workplace, and has been instrumental in building the arts and culture
community in Kansas City. Spartanburg, SC textiles and manufacturing
company, Milliken & Company
<>  will be the second
guest during the hour-long webinar. Milliken is dedicated to "doing well
by doing good", and this effort has manifested itself through the
company's support of the arts both in and out of the office. Lastly,
Arts Brookfield <> , operated through
Brookfield, a commercial real estate company based in New York City,
will discuss how they invigorate public spaces through the presentation
of free cultural experiences of all artistic disciplines in Brookfield's
premier properties around the world.
