California Regional Showcase

Deadline for Entry: October 16, 2015

Exhibition Dates: December 11, 2015-January 8, 2016

Manifest Gallery presents a competitive, open call  seeking submissions by artists living in the state of California for an upcoming exhibition surveying works of art from the state. This exhibition coincides with a separate but companion exhibit of works by artists living in New York, making this the next in an ongoing series of Manifest projects exploring trends in current art between contrasting regions. New York and California are home to major international art centers and educational institutions which dominate the global art scene. But each represents drastic differences in the creative output of artists living and working there. Together these two exhibits will showcase not only excellent art from both regions, but will highlight their similarities and differences, and quite possibly reveal some delightful surprises.

This exhibit has no predefined expectation for type or style of work to be considered or selected. THIS IS AN OPEN CALL. Submissions can range from the most traditional to the most conceptual or experimental. The only criteria for entry is that works must qualify as works of visual art made by artists living in California
