ORGANIZATION: LACE (Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions)
TITLE: Production Intern Fall / Winter 2014
DESCRIPTION:The Production Intern will work with the LACE team to support the production of LACE exhibitions and events. This position provides the opportunity to learn about and participate in the installation of our upcoming winter programs. Interns will work directly with the Exhibitions and Programs Manager as well as preparators, artists and curators to develop production plans and assist with the installation of the exhibitions as well as related events. Production interns will also have the opportunity to attend an art handling and installation course offered at LACE. This position provides hands-on experience in gallery operations and preparator duties as well as a point of entry to contemporary art.
REQUIREMENTS:
must have excellent communication skills
must be available during weekends and some evenings during special events
must be interested in contemporary art and willing to learn about current and upcoming exhibitions
technical experience (a/v operation) is a plus.
experience or interest in working with tools, art handling and installing
DURATION: 3-month long/ 2 days a week beginning mid November - February
