Description A high-end furniture showroom located in the heart of Design and Art in Los Angeles is seeking a motivated, organized and experienced Sales and Showroom Director. The showrooms focus is on Vintage and Contemporary Furniture, Custom Made to Order items and Art.
This position requires a personable and reliable, self-motivated pro-active individual who is a multi-tasker and able to "wear many hats" without becoming overwhelmed. He/she is able to work independently as well under the direction of the Founder / Creative Director of the company.
Requirements include
•Experienced Showroom Director/Sales
•Experienced in interior design/furniture showroom
•Knowledge (or willing to learn) Quickbooks, Exel, Word
•Knowledge (or willing to learn) Photoshop and Illustrator
•Comfortable with Apple computers
•Experience in handling purchase orders and invoicing
•Experience in interfacing with furniture Vendors and Brands
•Experience with interfacing with freight forwarders and shippers
•Experience with receiving shipments
•Familiar with memo agreement process and condition reports
•Posses the ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner with clients, vendors, designers, artists and sub-contractors
•Experience with sales (From the ordering process, through the production process, through the delivery of the goods and through to follow up)
•Experience with opening/closing procedures
(OPEN AT 9:45am Monday - Friday and 11:45am Saturday)
(CLOSE AT 6pm Monday - Friday and 5pm Saturday)
•Excellent client relation skills and customer service
•Excellent Problem solving skills
•Takes initiative and follow through on issues
•Organized and able to set up organizing systems for showroom and office functions
•Able to set up organizing systems for vendor, designer, and artist product/material library and maintain organized
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Maintain Siglo Moderno Website (Product image editing, Product image and copy upload and data entry)
•Maintain 1stdibs product upload posting and image editing
•Maintain Brand Blog
•Post to social media (Direction to be determined)
•Able to move around and shift furniture in the showroom
•Maintain and order showroom samples
•Maintain visual atmosphere of the showroom (Track lighting light bulbs, light fixture lights bulb)
•Support, assist and facilitate the needs of the creative director when dealing with clients, designers, artists, brands, etc.)
•Product knowledge - Learn all represented designers, artists, brands products and backgrounds
•Draft and Develop Press release and reach out to shelter and design publications
•Maintain Seven Standards of Service set forth in the Employment application (to be provided)
•Be passionate about Design + Art. Eager and motivated to get hands on experience and learn about the day to day operations of a showroom/design studio
•Have a sense of humor and enjoy working in a design environment
Minimum four years experience in Gallery and Furniture Sales required.
This is a Full-Time salaried position.
Salary Commensurate with experience.
