Position: salesperson, independent retail store - Los Angeles, CA 90048

Hours: part time -- up to 21 hours per week

We are looking for an energetic individual who is detail-oriented and comfortable wearing many hats throughout the work day. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Our store has a reputation for unique merchandise and care for the customer.

Duties and Skills Required:
-Sales for a gallery/shop selling American crafts: textiles, jewelry, glass, ceramics, wood, and works on paper

-Assist customers as well as vendors and artists

-Use PC computer for accurate data entry of new products and inventory database maintenance

-Sales of merchandise both in the store and on the web

- Outreach to customers regarding new merchandise and follow up on special orders

-Manage daily email communications as well as those for special events and openings

-Receive new inventory, store merchandising, and maintenance of store appearance

-Co-manage and maintain website with the rest of the staff (site is used for sales and must be kept updated with images and item descriptions) No HTML knowledge is necessary

- Retail experience desirable
