Santa Monica Art Gallery Seeks Full-time Registrar/Preparator

Patrick Painter, Inc. is currently looking for a full-time Registrar/Preparator.

Applicants should be organized, outgoing, and possess a strong interest in contemporary art. Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize. Must have prior experience as both a Registrar and Preparator.

Responsibilities:
• Keeping inventory of all artworks up to date both at the gallery and off-site
• Updating the gallery database
• Installing of exhibitions

* packing of art for shipment
• Organize and facilitate loans and consignments
• Correspond with various galleries and institutions and private lenders
• Assessing the condition of artworks, conducting research on the permanent collection
• Facilitation shipping and receiving both domestically and internationally

Requirements:
• B.A. in Fine Art/ Art History.
• At least one year of previous gallery experience.
• Extensive knowledge of ArtBase.
• Proficient with Mac OS.
• Proficient in art handling, framing and hanging.
• Knowledgeable about proper archival procedures.
• Must be able to multitask.
• Photography experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
