Premiering in 2013, ScareLA, Los Angeles' first Halloween convention, attracted thousands of fans who love Halloween and the best haunted attractions found in theme parks, shows, and local homes. Now in its third year, ScareLA is back, and bigger and better than ever! At our new location, the Pasadena Convention Center, we’ll be bringing Halloween early.

We are looking for volunteers for the weekend of August 7th, 8th, and 9th who can help out in a wide range of departments. This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in the arts, entertainment, hospitality, film, theater, education, professional development, networking with professionals, and enhancing their resumes.

Departments will consist of Production, Assisting with Stages and Presentations, Audio-Visual Support, Hospitality, Event Set Up and Tear-Down, Education, Children's Area, Exhibitor Support, Box Office, and other areas.

Volunteer coordinators will work with volunteers in placing them in departments that meet their interests and skills.

Volunteers must be committed to working a minimum of three shifts. Volunteers are expected to put a lot of effort into their roles, but will also have the chance to enjoy one of Southern California's premiere conventions dedicated to all things Halloween!

Candidacy to be part of the ScareLA 2015 Volunteer Team will be highly selective as we are looking for volunteers who are hard workers, reliable, and committed to making this convention a successful event for Halloween fans!

We would like to invite interested candidates to submit an application on our website (see link below) for consideration.

Experience is not required, though, volunteer work in the past with conventions and other types of large-scale events is a HUGE PLUS!
If you could please share this volunteer opportunity on the ArtsforLA Job Forum, we would very much appreciate it!

Applicants must be 18 or older to apply. This is an unpaid position. However, volunteers who commit to 3 or more shifts will receive a Weekend Scare Student pass to compensate for their hard work and efforts.

If you have any questions about our volunteer program, please feel free to email us at [email protected].
