Petra Cortright Studios is seeking a dependable studio manager for their studio in El Sereno, Los Angeles. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience as a studio manager, or in another upper level position of art administration, and must be passionate about Petra’s work and have knowledge or great interest in the issues surrounding it. The studio manager is responsible for coordinating gallery shows, travel, managing sales, coordinating with our production and studio team, and managing the space of the studio. As administrative tasks fluctuate, the candidate must be independently driven to conduct research into new avenues of production and find ways to keep streamlining the activities of the studio. This is a highly detail-oriented position and offers many benefits, including free parking, a private office, a pleasant working environment, and the potential for payroll and medical insurance. Must be personable, trustworthy, and have excellent communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • -  Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • -  Minimum 2 years office experience in art administration

  • -  Ability to manage multiple projects from start to finish

  • -  Excellent communication skills over phone, email, and text message. Ability to adapt tone between

    cordial, casual, and firm

  • -  Eager to grow in an administrative support role and willing to take on increasing responsibility over time

  • -  Detail-oriented and able to work both independently and alongside a team

  • -  Excellent short and long-term memory

  • -  Proficient in Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop

  • -  Savvy Google search/sourcing abilities

  • -  Ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • -  Cooperative and amiable

  • -  Web programming skills are a bonus

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • -  Accepting and declining projects, managing calendar, responding to daily calls and emails

  • -  Coordinating with Petra’s gallery and other galleries regarding installation, travel, and sales for shows

  • -  Communicating with accountant, bookkeeper, lawyer, building owner, and handyman

  • -  Bill paying and office organization

  • -  Invoicing, managing certificates of authenticity, and inventory

  • -  Supervising studio assistant and independent contractors for the studio, managing business accounts

  • -  Independent research into production and grants
