Position: Volunteer Producing Director

The Producing Director will provide inspirational leadership and help promote collaboration, innovation and sustainability for this thriving theater company. The Producing Director will join a staff of four full-time, multi-tasking, multi-talented individuals. The P.D. will have responsibility for budgeting, cash management, payroll, contracts and oversight of general operations. P.D. will report to and work with the Artistic Director to produce three projects per year and chart the course for the future at an exciting time in the life of the organization. The ideal candidate may have an degree in Arts Administration as well as experience in a not-for-profit theater. Equally important is a desire for responsibility, a sense of humor, curiosity, and a willingness to do whatever is required. Knowledge of the Group’s work a plus.

 

Responsibilities include:

•       Create strategy and draft proposals and grant applications for all institutional funders

•       Oversee fulfillment of all institutional donor requirements, including administering benefits, recognition, and reporting

•       Manage relationships with funders, and supporting senior leadership and Board in advancing the theater's relationships with major institutional prospects, including identification, cultivation and stewardship

•       Lead research and analysis for the annual fund

•       Collaborate with Poor Dog Group leadership to develop grant budgets and program descriptions

•       Manage the grant calendar

•       Collaborate on creation of all donor communications and collateral

•       With Poor Dog Group leadership, plan and manage events including Opening Nights, Salons, Annual Gala and attend each event to maintain relationships with current funders and cultivate prospects
