LA STAGE Alliance is searching for an intern from January to April who will work closely with our Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Clerk to facilitate and develop our scenic, props, and costume organization, rentals, and processing new inventory.This internship would be ideal for an individual with an interest in technical theater, theatrical design, non-profit management, and community engagement.LA STAGE Alliance is a 501(c)3 non-profit arts service organization dedicated to building awareness, appreciation, and support for the performing arts in Greater Los Angeles. Since 1975, LA STAGE has worked to empower artists and engage audiences of Greater LA through a series of programs, events, and advocacy efforts. In the spring of 2013, the performing arts community of Greater LA launched the LA STAGE Space Warehouse Co-Op. Since then, the Warehouse has become a valuable resource for theatre companies, schools, and acting studios to share materials and further develop their productions. Those who join the Warehouse become Co-Op “partners” and subsequently gain access to all props, costumes, and set pieces that belong to the Co-Op. All Warehouse inventory is barcoded and cataloged in an online database that partners may access to view and place orders.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Warehouse Clerk with pulling and staging of requested items. Helping coordinate pick-up and drop off appointments. Maintaining and improving warehouse organization.
• Working with the Warehouse Manager on outreach and marketing efforts for various programs and events
• Increasing participation in the LA STAGE Warehouse by researching and communicating with arts organizations, theaters, and other groups.
• Provide general support to LA STAGE Warehouse staff for daily operations

Qualifications

• Have a passion for the arts
• Maintain a well-organized and responsible professional demeanor
• Take initiative and work well both independently and as part of a team
• Research thoroughly and problem-solve creatively
• Have outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Be comfortable working with computers, including Google Docs and Office Suite
• Be flexible and willing to try new tasks
• Be reliable, and able to commit to a three to four-month-long internship of at least ten hours per weekThe position is unpaid but university credit can be arranged.
