Question 1: Please share a meaningful experience you had with art (visual, dance, drama, music, media arts) while growing up and its impact on you.
I am a former Artist Manager.
Question 2: What do you believe the role of City Council should be in developing and supporting the region’s arts and cultural infrastructure?
The city of Los Angeles should give its full effort to reviving its name in the field of creation. As mayor, I will propose special packages that will help artists and other creative citizens to produce their work.
Implementing Universal Basic Income will help support and develop artists and their works.
Question 3: What’s your vision for the city? What role, if any, does art and culture play in advancing that vision?
Encourage Our City's Artists
Indeed, since the arts are essential to humanity’s civilization, the arts are stimulators of genuine prosperity. They inspire and enable us by fostering beauty, goodness and creativity. My creative economic plan will ensure that female and male artists are represented equally and will help artists express their values. My plan will also build bridges between cultures regardless of age, gender, religion or ethnicity. Generally, when times are painful, art is a healing salve.
Questions 4: A recent report by the Otis College of Design found that 1 in every 6 jobs in LA County supports the creative sector and economy in Los Angeles County. If elected, how will you aim to ensure the continued vitality and growth of the creative economy and the artistic community that it supports?
Reinvest in Fashion Film Music Arts and Technology. There are several benefits that art music fashion film and technology provide not only to a city’s citizens but also to its tourists and visitors The arts improve students academic performance Studies prove that those students equipped with an education in the arts have relatively higher GPAs as well as higher standardized test scores and lower drop-out rates regardless of their socio-economic status.
Additionally the arts build up the economy since they represent a large portion of the economy The arts are beneficial for local merchants and drivers of tourism Provide Artists with an Innovative Venue and Cutting Edge Design Our city must be able to encourage and promote the various public and private programs of artists in order to advance and promote progression and public awareness in culture and fine arts. Such progression would increase opportunities for employment in the arts inspire its integration into the architecture of public infrastructures and provide works of art for city residents that are of high quality and are publicly accessible effectively contributing to the city’s scenery and signifying the area’s sense of place.
