Freelance Graphic Designer

Los Angeles City Council - District 4


The Office of Los Angeles City Councilmember David E. Ryu, Fourth District, is looking for freelance graphic designers to serve in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment working to communicate the Councilmember’s agenda. The position provides the opportunity to develop creative content and collaborate on visual projects.

The Role: Responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to: Ad development that ranges from simple to detailed and graphic-heavy content; design for both printed and online publication; and detailed and creative content creation for an annual report. Seasonal work load ranges from a minimum of 3-4 simple ad designs per month to large design-heavy projects and weekly deadlines.

The Candidate: The ideal candidate possesses the ability to: Express his/her creativity while collaborating with others and responding to notes and revisions, self-start and operate without much oversight, and communicate well by email and/or phone. Profiles for a successful candidate would likely have experience in web design, design for interactive and/or social media graphics, as well as experience with photoshop, illustrator, lightroom, logo creation and branding. Candidates must be over the age of 18 and be able to meet tight deadlines as they arise.

Council District 4: Los Angeles City Councilmember David E. Ryu represents Los Angeles' 4th Council District, which includes the neighborhoods of Sherman Oaks, Toluca Lake, Hollywood, Hollywood Hills, Los Feliz, Silverlake, Miracle Mile, Hancock Park, Windsor Square, Larchmont and a portion of Koreatown.

The Position: The candidate will operate on a project-to-project basis with a requirement to log activities and hours relevant to Council Office projects. The pay will be dependent on experience.
