Inaugural Call for Curatorial Proposals

Museum of Humanity Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA

The future Museum of Humanity Los Angeles (MOHLA) is pleased to announce its inaugural Call for Curatorial Proposals. MOHLA invites curators, artists, collectives, cultural producers and thinkers of all kinds to submit preliminary proposals for the series of multi-disciplinary pop-up exhibitions that will be displayed around the Los Angeles County.

MOHLA is a multi-disciplinary engagement platform that celebrates the greatest human endeavors across time. Its programs blend art, culture, science, history, and philosophy to inspire generations around the world and to foster a global conversation, drawing wisdom from the past and excitement for the future. MOHLA creates transforming experiences by combining traditional museum practices with immersive technologies, and presenting dynamic programs that include pop-up exhibitions, talks, documentaries, symposia, and community events. By doing so, the museum seeks to introduce diverse audiences to the most inspiring human achievements from around the world, building a vision for a future filled with hope and promise.

MOHLA is scheduled to open its doors in 2024, however, the museum will start its curatorial planning and programs as early as in 2019. We intend to do so by hosting pop-up exhibitions throughout Los Angeles County, in cities, such as Santa Monica, Hollywood, Downtown Los Angeles, Pasadena, Glendale, and Long Beach. The exhibitions will aim to refine MOHLA’s curatorial concept, increase local awareness about the museum, and establish the relationship with its audience.
