The LA-based documentary Jimmy in Saigon (https://jimmyinsaigon.com/) seeks a part-time production intern interested in independent filmmaking. The intern will focus on areas of production, post-production, organization, outreach and editorial tasks. This person should be organized, be able to work independently between weekly check-ins with director Peter McDowell, and be available up to ten hours each week. Primary responsibilities include watching, transcribing and logging interview footage, database maintenance, archive management, and helping plan and staff fundraising events. Additional tasks could include some editing of clips, composing email updates, and journalistic and historic research. The intern should be able to work both remotely and on-site with Peter in the Silverlake and Echo Park areas of LA. College credit is available. Director Peter McDowell is an arts administrator with 25 years of experience in the field and also the director of two short Super-8 films featured in San Francisco’s Frameline festival.
