Into Action Open Call for Artists

Los Angeles, CA

“This is precisely the time when artists go to work. There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal.” -Toni Morrison

This is an Open Call to artists who demand more from our justice systems, education systems, and each other. This January, we illuminate our resilience. We take back our hope.

Running January 13-21, INTO ACTION is a groundbreaking social justice festival of art and ideas in downtown Los Angeles. An expansive week long pop-up art exhibition co-curated by Glenn Kaino, For Freedoms (Hank Willis Thomsa and Eric Gottesman), and Favianna Rodriguez, INTO ACTION will feature a series of large format creative installations, music performances, panel discussions and activist workshops designed to inspire hope, galvanize community, and ignite creative engagement.

We invite you to join hundreds of renowned artists to submit your artwork for consideration. Our esteemed open call selection jury includes, Rita Gonzalez, Susan Herman, Shepard Fairey, Rosario Dawson, John Legend, Ann Philbin, Harry Belafonte, Bamby Salcedo, Naima E. Keith, and Cecile Richards.
