LOG is an emergent interdisciplinary architecture firm based in Los Angeles working in mid to high-end residential, historic renovation and restoration, and small to mid commercial projects. We are focused on a research based approach to aesthetic maturation using precise construction details to sing the song of each unique project. LOG is seeking a designer/job captain specializing in Revit to join our documentation team with a honed ability to graphically communicate through the architectural standard of plans, elevations, sections, and details. The primary requirement for the position is the ability to synthesize and structure design scope into drawing sets that express design intent coherently while taking advantage of BIM technology for efficiency.
An ideal candidate can:
-Build base/as-built Revit models from site visitations, pointcloud data, or CAD
-Produce as-built measurements
-Develop cartoon/permit sets
-List and synthesize meeting minutes
-Collaborate wholeheartedly with the design principal and other design managers in a consistent cycle of softlines to hardlines and back again (Critical)
-Develop on-the-fly, unique modeling methods for unique design intent, parametric or non-parametric (Critical)
-Visualize the steps of the design process using realtime rendering techniques using Enscape
-Quickly learn our graphical standards and pick up redlines to improve the clarity of our sets.
-Assist in consultant coordination and proactively seek solutions for project conflicts
-Facilitate permit submittals, corrections, and revisions when necessary
-Communicate clearly and warmly, be able to have fun, and help develop the company culture
Basic expectations:
-Revit experience: enough to be able do the designwork and the documentation at the same time.
-General knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction processes
-Strong knowledge of architectural geometry and spatial vernacular
-Being able to connect professionally with clients and consultants and represent the firm
A plus:
-Code review/Permit strategy
-Construction Detailing knowledge
-Design history research
-Trade-specific expertise or familiarity (plant specification, structural coordination, furniture construction, etc.)
Software Proficiency (in order of importance):
-Revit (primary production tool) [ideal candidate minimum 3 working years]
-Bluebeam Revu (for markups)
-Enscape (for visualization) [Vray or Twinmotion good alternates]
-AutoCAD (for interoperability with consultants)
-Adobe Photoshop and Indesign (for presentations and image doctoring)

We also respect work/life balance and are open to part-time and an appropriate amount of remote hours, when necessary.
