Pay Scale: $65,000 – $70,000
Schedule: Eligible for Hybrid Schedule after completing training period
Summary:
The Assistant Director of Admissions works closely with the Director of Admissions and Recruitment to attract and enroll highly qualified applicants. This position is responsible for implementing strategies for recruiting qualified applicants for all SCI-Arc’s programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Lead student ambassadors to supplement and enhance both recruitment and yield efforts
– Assist in the admissions process, including entering and updating student information, processing all application materials (e.g. GRE, transcripts, etc.), and running daily processes to update the application status of students
– Communicate regularly with recently submitted and accepted applicants to improve the enrollment yield and keep wait listed applicants engaged to ensure continued interest
– Follow up with accepted students to ensure their admissions files are complete prior to enrollment (e.g. final transcripts, required test scores, etc.)
– Maintain student records, enter data, and generate letters, reports and lists utilizing the applicant and student databases
– Travel locally and nationally to high schools, universities, and community colleges for recruitment of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students as well as to establish, maintain, and improve SCI-Arc presence.
– Work closely with the Director of Admissions to execute annual student recruitment plan to support institutional enrollment goals
– Assists with organizing, scheduling, and coordinating special events hosted by the Office of Admissions (e.g. New Student Orientation, Open House, High Accepts etc).
– Speak to individuals and groups on and off campus through tours of the campus, classroom presentations, college fairs, etc.Provide the Director of Admissions with innovative options for digital marketing campaigns that support the institutional enrollment goals
– Assist with creating, updating, and maintaining recruitment advertising materials (e.g. posters, viewbooks, flyers, ads-printed and online, etc)
– Plan all local and national recruitment travel including high school visits, college fairs, portfolio review events, and yield events in key cities
– Maintain all SCI-Arc recruitment presentations up to date, before and during recruitment season
– Serve as the key leader for campus based recruitment events (e.g. ACE events, NOMA events, LAUSD, etc.)
– Responsible for organizing, coordinating, and executing online posts
– Connects prospective students with SCI-Arc faculty, alumni, and current students to enhance understanding and appreciation of SCI-Arc
– Responsible for creating and emailing program specific HTML email campaigns
– Assist in training new Admission Counselors
– Maintain and upkeep Office of Admissions Standard Operation Procedures
– Assist with Slate implantation
– Maintain and upkeep Slate Communication Flow
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s degree preferred)
– 3-4 years admissions and recruitment experience required
– Excellent verbal communication skills to clearly convey information in person and over the phone, experience with public speaking preferred
– Skill in writing clear and concise, correspondence, memos, and e-mails
– Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
– Self-starter and naturally hospitable
– Attention to detail and strong organization skills
– Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook highly preferred
– Experience with Slate is required.
– Travel evening, and weekend work are required
– Valid driver’s license and personal automobile are required
– Visual arts or Architecture background preferred
– Fluency in a second language such as Spanish or Mandarin is a plus
