SCWCA

Los Angeles, CA

Ancestral Connections is organized by Southern California Womens Caucus for Art in partnership with Avenue 50 Studio. Artists may draw on remembered places, spiritual practices, worldviews – even artistic traditions to express their concerns. Surprise us with your interpretations!

Open to all self-identified women artists in Southern California working in most media except video or installation.

The exhibit will be juried by Chelo Montoya, current chair of the California Arts Council and Assistant Vice President of Adult Education and Public Programs at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She has an M.A. in Public Art Studies from USC and an MFA in Graphic Design from Otis College of Art & Design.

Artwork must be no more than 40 inches wide in any direction, including frame. 3D works can occupy no more than 24 inches of floor space. No video and installation works accepted.

Artists MUST hand deliver (NO SHIPPING) their accepted entry to Avenue 50 Studio on Saturday, June 17, 1:30-3:30 pm. Artists are advised to self-insure.

ARTWORK FORMAT, PRESENTATION & REQUIREMENTS: Artwork submissions are limited to 3 original artworks per artist as JPEGs. Name JPEG files: Artist last name and title plus dimensions.
