The school's state-of-the-art campus is located in the “heart-of-art” of downtown Los Angeles, neighboring Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Music Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and the Broad Museum. 
Summary of position: 

The Library Technician oversees or participates in all functions of library circulation, reserves, bindery, and processing. 10 month position: August – May.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include:.

  •  Scheduling the staffing of circulation desk
  • All aspects of library circulation including circulation notices
  • Course reserves
  • Library bindery and physical processing of materials
  • Maintaining patron database
  • Updating and maintenance of catalog records
  • System backup and database maintenance
  • Stack maintenance and shelving
  • Non-collection purchasing (supplies)
  • Periodical check in and claiming
  • Opening and closing the library
  • Providing technical support with library equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned 


  • Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum experience: 3 years
  • Field of expertise: library operations and integrated library systems
  • Strong music background preferred

Computer skills:

  • MS Word, Excel and Access required
  • Experience with integrated library systems: Innovative Interfaces Millennium software highly desirable

Other skills and abilities:

  •  Highly organized
  •  Strong customer service skills
