Lunch Ticket

Literary & Art Journal - Antioch University

Los Angeles, CA

Lunch Ticket is a twice-yearly literary and art journal, published in June and December. Our review periods for the June and December issues of Lunch Ticket are February 1-April 30 and August 1-October 31.

We are proud to host two prizes, the Diana Woods Memorial Prize in Creative Nonfiction and The Gabo Prize for Literature in Translation & Multi-Lingual Texts. Both prizes are open for submissions in February and August.

Amuse-Bouche: Spotlight features individual writers/artists every other week throughout the year. Amuse-Bouche accepts literary submissions during January and July. Visual Artsubmissions for Amuse-Bouche are reviewed during the main Lunch Ticket reading periods mentioned in the paragraph above.

Lunch Ticket and Amuse-Bouche: Spotlight both publish Poetry, Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Flash Prose (any genre), Young Adult (13+), Literary Translation & Multi-Lingual Texts, and Visual Art.

Amuse-Bouche: Writers Read publishes literary annotations written by Antioch University MFA students and alumni every other week. The submissions for this section are currently open, and only to AULA MFA students and alumni.

If accepted for publication, Lunch Ticket retains the First North American Serial Rights of the Work to publish, produce, reproduce, distribute, and market the electronic version of the Work in Publication. All other, remaining rights revert to the Author upon publication. The Author agrees to refrain from selling or giving rights to another publication for one year from the date of this agreement and contract.

If you are currently enrolled or a graduate of Antioch University Los Angeles' MFA program, we ask that you refrain from submitting to Lunch Ticket and Amuse-Bouche: Spotlight for at least two years from your graduation date. We do not accept submissions from the AULA MFA program's faculty or staff.
