David Kordansky Gallery seeks an experienced and highly motivated, hard-working, organized, and thoughtful manager to fill the position of Managing Director. This position is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, and requires flexibility for additional hours based on the needs of the Gallery.

Primary Responsibilities
-   Oversee, maintain, and make recommendations for the improvement of the Gallery’s infrastructure, policies, and procedures
-   Participate in strategic planning to support the physical and financial growth of gallery
-   Manage, define, and refine roles and responsibilities of all staff, with direct management of administrative and operational staff
-   Lead new staff recruitment, hiring, and on-boarding
-   Oversee the Gallery’s calendar of exhibitions and other programming, including Gallery dinners, public programming, and other events
-   Project manage all special projects, including the Gallery’s expansion, construction, organizational restructuring, etc
-   Serve as the primary liaison for all legal counsel, providing feedback and advice to the Executive team as needed and ensuring compliance
-   Oversee off-site gallery property management, storage allocation, and the transition to new facilities
-   At least 5 years’ experience in organizational management in an art gallery, auction house, or comparable arts organization required
-   Knowledge and understanding of human resource management, recruitment, and training required
-   Prior experience working in a for-profit, art business setting, with an understanding of budget management required
-   Prior experience working with legal counsel, negotiating contracts, and/or property management required
-   Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
-   High attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and ability to implement and manage multiple projects and timelines
-   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-   Ability to build consensus within a team and employ discretion as required
-   Knowledge of contemporary art and art history
-   Proficiency in Mac computers, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, and ArtBase
