JOB DESCRIPTION

The marketing assistant reports to the Program Manager in LA. She/he will provide support to the Program Manager in day to day operations and event administration.

She/he works to ensure consistent, accurate and engaging promotions and content creation for the Arts Brookfield website, social media, and other platforms. She/he will support the preparation and dissemination of marketing materials. She/he is responsible for the creation and dissemination of audience and retailer surveys related to all Arts Brookfield events and will compile that information into an easily viewed warp-up report.

She/he will attend all Arts Brookfield events and will serve as the point person for hired marketing staff including brand ambassadors and street teams.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with in-office marketing tasks related to events, including: o Researching potential opportunities, activations, trends and partners to enhance promotions around events
  • Social media scripting and scheduling (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube)
  • Live social media posting at events
  • Image database updates (Bynder)
  • Drafting and editing content for web, social media, and calendar listings
  • Attends departmental meetings as needed
  • Oversees delivery and stocking of event signage at 8 DTLA properties
  • Prepares and manages information desk at performances and events
  • Disseminates directives to hired event marketing staff (brand ambassadors)
  • Fills in as brand ambassador as needed
  • Organizes marketing inventory, both digital and actual
  • Liaises between production, marketing and building operations teams as needed prior to and during events
  • Attends all Arts Brookfield events
  • Manages guest lists and check-in table
  • Prepares recap reports for all events
  • Prepares, disseminates, and interprets audience and retailer surveys

 

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • A degree in arts business, arts marketing, marketing, or similar fields
  • Passion for and knowledge of the performing and visual arts of all mediums, with a focus on Los Angeles
  • Interest and experience in events, particularly with event marketing and promotions
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Positive attitude and devoted team player
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with the public and colleagues at all levels
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make quick decisions
  • Must be familiar with social media and digital marketing
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Social media literacy – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
  • Must have an internet capable smartphone (iPhone, Android, etc.)
  • Experience managing event staff a plus
  • Website maintenance and HTML experience a plus
  • Basic graphic design knowledge a plus

 

DETAILS

  • Position is based in Downtown Los Angeles
  • 2-3 days/week (Wednesdays & Fridays required, 3rd day TBD as needed)
  • 5-6 month period
  • Ideal start date is early April
  • Some weekends will be required for special events
  • Candidate must be able to commit through September
  • Position open until filled

 

COMPENSATION

Entry level, $20/hour
