550 arts advocates gathering on Capitol Hill for Art Advocacy Day 2012. National Arts Advocacy Day enters its 25th consecutive year today gathering hundreds of arts supporters and grassroots advocates from all over the country in Washington, D.C. Organized by national partner Americans for the Arts in partnership with Ovation, hundreds of arts, education, entertainment, and policy leaders are walking the halls of Capitol Hill advocating for public funding for the arts.

The goal of Arts Advocacy Day is to foster greater awareness of the importance of arts and culture in American’s daily lives. Today these arts advocates participate in legislative trainings preparing them for their lobbying visits with Members of Congress where they are able discuss key issues about public access to the arts.
