As discussed in Cristina Pacheco's article on the subject, LCFF represents a significant sea change in not only the way schools in California are funded, but how they measure their success.  With Governor Brown's call for greater educational justice in the public school system comes opportunities for parents and community members to participate directly in the process to determine what success will look like in each district.

To get started, check out the Online Action Brief to learn more about what LCFF is and how you can help ensure every student can have access to a complete education that includes the arts.  Tell your friends and fellow parents what you learn, send a letter to your school board asking for expanded arts education opportunities, or give a presentation to your board to help them understand how the arts will help achieve goals in each LCFF priority area.  There are also opportunities to serve on Parent Advisory Committees—these volunteers will have direct input into the goals set within each priority area and will be powerful advocates for the arts.
