Results of Elections with Arts for LA Surveyed Candidates

Photo: Pomona City HallThe Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's office posted results of elections for which Arts for LA conducted candidate surveys.

In Pomona, three city council members won election in races featuring three to five opponents.  In District 1, John Nolte received the largest number of votes, while Paula Lantz prevailed in District 4. Debra Martin will represent the 6th District.  Of these, only Ms. Martin responded to our survey.  You can view her responses here. 

Santa Monica's City Council race offered voters the opportunity to select four candidates from an at-large pool of 15 candidates.  Ted Winterer, Terry O'Day, Gleam Olivia Davis, and Tony Vazquez received the highest number of votes among the slate of candidates.  Of these, Mr. Winterer, Ms. Davis, and Mr. Vazquez all completed Arts for LA's surveys.  You can view their responses here. 

Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District held elections for three of its seats.  Ben Allen, Maria Leon-Vazquez, and Jose Escarce received the highest number of votes in this election.  All three of these candidates completed our candidate surveys on arts educationn, which were also featured as part of the California Alliance for Arts Education's statewide Candidate Survey Project.
