Now accepting entries of visual artworks that make use of image, text, and language for a curated group exhibition at Carnation Contemporary in Portland, OR. All mediums welcome (book, video, sculpture, drawing, print, painting, performance, etc.). Additionally, artist books/publications will be considered for a library/reading room aspect of this exhibition. Open nationally to all artists currently residing in the USA. Curated by Katherine Spinella (co-founder of Carnation Contemporary in Portland, OR) and Kristin Hough (co-founder of Outback Arthouse in Los Angeles, CA).

ABOUT THE CURATORS
Katherine Spinella, a co-founding member of Carnation Contemporary, is interested in the complex intersections of image and text in visual art. Kristin Hough is a curator and co-founder of Outback Arthouse, based in Los Angeles. Both curators are practicing visual artists.
Carnation Contemporary was founded in 2018 by a collective of Portland-based artists who champion critical and contemporary artwork. It is a cooperative gallery supporting emerging and mid-career artists from Portland and the surrounding region. Members include M. Acuff, Russell Borne, Brittney Connelly, Renee Couture, Carolyn Hopkins, Matt Bennett Laurents, Jeremy Le Grand, Maria Lux, Susan Murrell, Hannah Newman, Katherine Spinella, Leslie Vigeant, Jessie Weitzel Le Grand, and John Whitten.
