Outreach & Digital Engagement Coordinator

The PMCA is looking for a savvy and enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Outreach and Digital Engagement Coordinator. On a part-time basis, this person will work with appropriate members of the PMCA staff to increase the Museum’s visibility, attendance, and audience engagement.



  • Identify audiences, projects, and cross-promotional opportunities for each exhibition
  • Promote exhibitions and events and cultivate relationships in local community: Convention & Visitors Bureau, businesses, colleges, hotels, cultural influencers
  • Serve as point person for select events, including opening receptions, ArtNight Pasadena, ARTWalk Pasadena, and Family Day
  • Serve as point person and promote the Museum’s participation in Passport to Success, Blue Star Museums, and Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Live!
  • Record panel discussions, edit audio, and upload to website
  • Screen and place volunteers for all events

Digital Engagement

  • Update and maintain the Museum’s website (content management, asset creation); measure reach and engagement with Google Analytics
  • Develop and implement social media strategies on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram; track growth and measure results
  • Review Museum’s onsite signage and collateral (wayfinding, desk, decal, survey station, etc.); identify areas for improvement and engagement
  • Upload exhibitions and events to various online calendars
  • Design and send monthly email campaigns (MailChimp); update subscriber list
  • Update and monitor Shopify site as needed
  • Manage and monitor firewall and back-ups (Sucuri); hosting and domain websites; and online donation tool (Stripe)
  • Other duties as assigned


Skills and Abilities:

  • Google Analytics, HTML, and WordPress
  • MailChimp
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Mac computers and PC
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Gmail/Google Apps
  • Adobe Creative Cloud a plus

Education and Experience:

  • BA degree required
  • 0–2 years of internship and/or work experience, nonprofit arts and culture sector preferred

Additional Qualifications:

  • English, fluent in both spoken and written
  • Valid CA driver’s license

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Noise, such as groups of people working in enclosed areas
  • Typical office environment
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
