City Hearts: Kids Say Yes to the Arts, L.A.’s preeminent Arts outreach organization serving at-greatest-risk children seeks an experienced Dance Instructor to teach classes, in the afterschool hours
at our partner K-5 schools in Compton, Boyle Heights, and Paramount.
The ideal candidate MUST have extensive training in Ballet and/or Classical Jazz, a professional dance background AND significant experience teaching at-risk youth, must be familiar with the VAPA standards and be able to put together Holiday and Year-end performances.
This person MUST also have experience choreographing Dance pieces for children. Experience staging full-length Dance performances is an important need, as well.

Pay is hourly and commensurate with experience. Includes a small stipend for mileage.

distressed neighborhoods of Southern California, thereby enhancing self-esteem,
literacy, and social and creative-thinking skills, while strengthening the health and vitality of our community. This is accomplished through programs in Dance, Photography, Theatre, and Music offered throughout the year at schools, youth centers, and homeless shelters.
