DESCRIPTION
Saddleback College is looking for a part time Instructor of Fine Arts in Jewelry for Fall 2107 to teach the following course:
Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00AM - 11:50AM teaching jewelry-making for a three level stacked course beginning August 21st and ending December 20th. The following is a list and catalog description of the stacked courses that are taught concurrently:
ART 228 - BENCH JEWELER I
Introduction to the history of jewelry, design processes, materials, core techniques of piercing, sawing, basic soldering, and safety policies and procedures of a bench jeweler.
ART 229 - BENCH JEWELER II
This course continues with techniques learned in ART 228. Explores design development, green technology, and offers a hands-on introduction to the techniques of etching, surface texturing, cold connections, and soldering wire.
ART 230 - BENCH JEWELER III
Explore the advanced soldering techniques of hollow forms, rings, and the introduction to the lost wax casting process.

An ideal candidate has an MFA in Jewelry or equivalency.
