Job Summary

The Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC), a public art non-profit in Venice, California seeks an organized, collaborative, and problem-solving Project Coordinator. An ideal candidate will have experience and skill in initiating, planning, monitoring, and executing projects successfully from start to finish. The Project Coordinator will oversee both large and small scale projects related to public art commissions, fundraising, and mural restoration.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Field requests and create bids for mural restorations
  • Coordinate SPARC Mural Rescue Team in the restoration of local murals
  • Oversee SPARC shop and sales of MuralShield
  • Oversee a small, rotating team of interns and volunteers
  • Event planning and fundraising
  • Create and implement systems and practices to increase SPARC’s productivity and efficiency
  • Manage building, working with facilities staff and building tenants


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of two years of experience in project coordination
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent collaborator
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Basic budgeting skills
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Ability to problem-solve creatively
  • Passion for social justice
  • Experience working in the arts is desired but not required
