Job Title: Judy Baca Arts Academy Project Coordinator

Reports to: Artistic Director, Executive Director

Duration: Full-time (March-June 2016 with possible 2-year extension

Position overview:In partnership with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and UCLA@SPARCDigital/Mural Lab, the Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) announces the installation of five Judy Baca mural reproductions on the interior campus walls and the development of curriculum for JB Arts Academy educator use, the installation of 15 artworks inside the JB Arts Academy classrooms, the creation of durable outdoor chalk walk on the campus playground, and the expansion of our current workshops to maximize our mentoring outreach to all 6th grade graduating JB Arts Academy students.

Project Coordinator oversees management of the program and acts as the liaison between LAUSD, SPARC, and JB Art Academy. Responsibilities include monitoring program calendar, coordinating meetings and workshops, creating reports, adhering to milestones, additional fund-raising, and general administrativeduties.

Summary of Responsibilities and Duties:

·      Monitor program calendar, milestones, and budgets ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of the program

·      Create periodic reports, maintenance of project documentation and portfolio management

·      Coordinate and carry out meetings, workshops, and activities/events between LAUSD, SPARC, and JB Arts Academy

·      Project tracking and support project teams

Minimum Job Requirements:

·      BS or BA in Education, Visual Arts, Social Studies, or equivalent experience preferred

·      Minimum of 2-3 years as Project Coordinator

·      Knowledge of project management and technical documentation tools

·      Ability to manage multiple project plans concurrently and prioritize tasks appropriately under changing conditions

·      Strong analytical skills including requirements documentation, troubleshooting andcreative problem solving

·      Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
