City of Inglewood
The City of Inglewood, CA invites artists working in performed or time-based media to submit a Proposal for Creative Services to Inglewood Growing Artists’ Performed Projects (IGAPP). The City seeks to contract two separate artists or artist groups to create original time-based work to activate the newly restored Willie Agee Playhouse, 714 Warren Lane, in Edwards Vincent, Jr. Park, Inglewood.
Deadline to apply: Sept. 2, 2016 for creative services to be completed by Dec. 10, 2017.
Each contract for creative services will be in the amount of $12,500 and include scheduled use of the Playhouse for up to twelve weeks. A public benefit must be proposed and provided in or around the Playhouse, a 55 seat venue with new lighting and sound systems, kitchenette, storage and restroom located within the mature trees and lush grounds of the Park.
Artists working in time-based media including but not limited to original animation, dance, music, song-writing, spoken word, social practice, theater, visual projections or other time-based creative services suitable for a general audience are encouraged to apply.
Applications will be accepted through CallforEntry.org, an application service free to artists.
A How to Apply Workshop will be held at Inglewood Playhouse on Saturday August 6 from 10:00 am to 11:30. Artists do not need to attend the workshop to apply. Tours of the Playhouse will be provided before and after the presentation.
