DESCRIPTION
LA Opera’s Public Relations and Archive intern will have the special opportunity to learn the workings of a world-class opera company’s Public Relations team. Over the course of the ten-week internship the Public Relations and Archive Intern will work closely with the PR team to develop a comprehensive system for management of the company’s PR and media assets including both archives and the integration of new content. The intern will also gain experience in other Public Relations activities such as monitoring social media channels, daily press tracking, content creation, researching of press targets, and staffing social media channels for various events that may arise during the internship.
REQUIREMENTS
The prospective intern will have strong organizational, research and writing skills. A high-level of computer proficiency is desired with skill in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. An interest in opera, music and the arts are a plus.
Internship positions are open to currently enrolled undergraduate college students who
- Are currently enrolled as undergraduates, including students enrolled in associate’s degree (community college) programs.
- Reside or attend college in Los Angeles County
- Have completed at least one semester of college by June 1, 2018 or will complete their undergraduate degree between May 1-September 1, 2018
- Are able to legally work within the United States
