THE ROLE
The Senior Account Manager is responsible for assuming a leading role in the local account
management team and developing short and long-term business relationships. This position
works directly with key accounts, larger projects, and responds to requests for services, creating
estimates for jobs and insuring the coordination of the services once jobs are confirmed. Works
closely with a wide variety of clients and all the Artex service departments to insure the highest
level of client satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Working closely with the General Manager and Director of Client Services to identity
opportunities or gaps in local clients, processes and procedures
Oversees the allocation of client accounts and associated work assignments amongst
the client services team members based on skill set and workload of each individual;
ensuring that client demands are met in a responsive and efficient manner
Provides feedback to General Manager on status and on business development
Works with all departments to ensure that clients are provided with the highest standard
of service to handle, pack, move, store, and protect their property.
Identifies what resources are available both internally and externally to successfully
realize the customer's requests in a timely, efficient manner
Manages complex logistics required to consolidate and disperse traveling exhibitions
Conveys and coordinates client information to Artex' operations departments to ensure
the success of each job and coordinates any work performed by other service
departments
Proactively anticipates service concerns and works with colleagues to develop
solutions
Provide clients with a clear and complete written estimate in advance of any work
performed including the scope of work and associated estimated costs.
Leads and/or is a key contributor in the preparation of responses to RFPs; drawing on
required details from multiple departments.
Proactively anticipates problems and works with colleagues to develop solutions.
May act as a Project Manager or lead in the execution of a complex and/or high revenue
project.
Communicates the full range of Artex’ services to our clients.
Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of eight (8) years working in a museum, gallery, or fine arts services company
required.
Knowledge of logistical operations in order to understand and provide services to clients
Strong communication skills with experience interacting with art professionals and high
net worth individuals preferred.
Knowledge of the TSA screening process and regulations
Experience in handling paintings, sculptures, and antiquities preferred
Knowledge of crating & packing materials and techniques / specifications.
Collection and exhibition management experience preferred
Museum or gallery inventory management experience preferred
Team Player, able to take a leading role in a dynamic environment;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both within and outside
the organization.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to speak clearly and persuasively.
Solid time management and organizational skills.
Capable of working well under pressure and able to meet deadlines.
High attention to detail along with the ability to multi-task.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, numeracy and basic math skills.
Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the ability
to navigate within the internet required.
Travel as needed
EDUCATION:
Bachelors’ degree required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively and resolve conflicts both orally and in writing with both
internal and external clients. Excellent verbal, telephone and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Works primarily in an office environment, with occasional visits to client’s facilities and other
Artex offices. Work is mostly sedentary with intermittent movement throughout work hours.
Movement may include walking, bending, lifting, and standing and may occur in offices,
warehouses, or similar areas.
